Guide Profile
James Kip (Kiptoo) born and brought up in one of the largest province in Kenya famously known as the Rift Valley. Although, he grew up in a remote village that does not even appear on the Kenyan map. He is glad to have traveled throughout Kenya so he can share the same experience with you.
During his childhood and teenage years he had a chance of going to school from lower (primary) to higher (secondary). During all this time the largest wild animal he spotted was the Hare and the rest were domestic ones, including cows, sheep, donkeys not to forget chicken (kip, in Dutch)! Birds were in plenty. Unfortunately, he could not even guess the name of one. While undergoing this, he started to have an interest in nature, Flora and Fauna. During primary school Kip enrolled in Scouts, which led to his first camping outing. This was the beginning of his love for the outdoors. During secondary (high school), he joined the Wildlife Club. During the time of the Wildlife Club Kip realized that nature was in his veins.
Upon this realization he decided to take it as a career. This decision removed him from his rural home to the capital city, Nairobi. This career choice was struggle for his parents to understand. Most people in Kenya aspire to be an athlete or part of the military, Kip is extremely happy to be a Bush Teacher. |
